James
5:16. “ .......the earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and
wonderful results.”
Often our prayers are general
or obligatory. Because we know we should
pray. we do. The dictionary defines earnest
as ardent, fervent, to have zeal. James says we are to come before Christ in
earnestness. If we fervently come before Christ we will approach him with
humbleness and specificity and because we long to spend time with Him.
Our prayers are not always
answered the way we would like them to be answered but God always answers them
in a way that will mature us and equip us for the work he has for us to do and
ultimately to prepare us for eternity and make us who God sees us as being. God
always has our best interests at heart even though it doesn’t seem like it
sometimes. We need to trust him!
If we have confessed our sins and have a
personal relationship with Christ, we are considered righteous in God’s eyes
and we are told our earnest prayers have great power and wonderful results.
How can we neglect our prayer
time with a promise such as this?
Resolve to spend some quality time with your Creator and through Christ,
He will hear and grant results.
Prayer for
today: Heavenly Father, (Talk to your
heavenly Father, ask him to help you free up time to talk with him each day
with earnestness, don’t forget to thank
him for your blessings.)
